Is there a word that's more abused
and soiled with lies than "Love"? It's used
as every kind of weak excuse
to let vain, foolish men believe
there's some sense in the way they live.
Is the road too steep? It can
be cut short by Love. A man
walking the primrose path of sin
can still find hope in Love. If, seeing
his goal, he will not fight to win
it, Love will win it for him.
If he goes astray, ignoring
promptings of conscience and of sense,
Love is his refuge and defence.

let us rely a little more
on Holy Writ for metaphor.
For instance, at the Tower of Babel,
how were things? Basically - unstable.
A very simple explanation:
Everyone wanting to talk at random,
no one wanting to work in tandem -
severe linguistic complication.
Everyone speaking a different sort
of language - "personalities", in short.
When God desires a man to fall,
He makes him an "individual".

How long the war will last? Until
the day you die. What will you lose?
Everything you think you love.
What gain? A purer, stronger will,
a loftier faith, integrity
of soul, with all the power to choose
to go in happiness to the grave.
That is the crown of thorns, that each
of you must fight this war to reach!
